Care & Concern - Who are we and what do we do?
Care and Concern (C & C) is a group of volunteers who do a variety of practical tasks in and around our parish and the local community.
Jesus instructed the Apostles, ”Into what city you go, after they welcome you, eat what they set before you and cure the sick there. Say to them the reign of God is at hand (Luke 10:8).
The group is commissioned to bring love, prayers and concern to the whole community and to provide services in the areas of:
· the lonely and isolated and distressed
· the sick and those in long term care facilities
· the elderly
· those with special needs
. their carers
· the bereaved
· those new to the parish
· transport for those who cannot access the public transport system
· meals for those experiencing difficult times
· refreshments following funerals, if it is requested
The Group meets monthly and volunteers meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 1.30pm at the Parish Centre. New volunteers are always welcome and training is available to prepare them for this work.
St Patrick's Care and Concern Group has continued its work throughout the year wherever possible. The members of this support group are commissioned to bring love, prayers and concern of the parish community to the lonely and distressed; the sick and this in long term care facilities, the elderly, the breeaved, those with special needs, their carers and those new to St Patrick's Parish. Assistance from parishioners in this work is greatly appreciated and valued.
In order to achieve their purpose, the group asks that parishioners inform them if they are aware of anyone in the parish who may be in need of support.
Our Parish has a Chaplain who may be contacted to give support where needed:
